Having PC trouble?
There are so many stories I have heard of people going out and buying a brand new computer because their computers are runing a little bit slower, (or maybe a lot slower). While that is nice if you have the funds to do so, often the problem could be that you have some spyware or a virus that is slowing down your system.
First lets look at simple upgrades on a pc that will save money and extend the life of the unit:
1) RAM if you have bought your PC in the last few years chances are that you can upgrade that system from current situation to 4 gigabytes of ram. That will speed it up and you can usually do that for around 100 dollars.
Here is a great resource: Kingston.com This is a great resource for find out the system ram you need for your PC and also the max capacity for your specific computer. Newer Pc’s can hold as much as 8 gig’s.
Here is a great place to pick up that ram as well Tigerdirect.com
Secondly, if the system is having issues and you don’t want to mess with the hardware, there are a couple of things you can do.
1) download Spyboy Search and destroy
– Download this and let it run its program it may take a while, but that is a great way to begin to rid yourself a basic spyware.
2) Get a good virus protection system. It is the opinion of Adkinstechnology.com, That kaspersky.com offers the best product for the money for virus protection and internet security. Norton (ranked 13th can slow your system down and allow Malware in). If you want to try with a really good free virus protection then try AVG.com
Lastly, If you are having trouble with this, it maybe time to wipe the system. If your computer has it you can re-boot from the restore drive and return your computer to the original settings at purchase.
If you would like some one to do this for you see a local tech guy they are out there and he or she would be happy to assist you.
